Promoting Five Specialized Energy Fields
Global agenda of 2050 carbon neutrality and current paradigm shifts in the global energy industry has called for integrated efforts to address the climate change with stricter world-wide environmental regulations, creating new global economic order. Eco-friendly market pursuits are dominantly on the rise, and global energy players try to position themselves to serve the increased needs of the environment-focused energy markets.
Towards the goal of global theme of zero carbon era, KENTECH creates five specialized energy tracks to be a good global citizen who aim to make contribution to developing core energy technology and cultivating energy engineers and professionals to address the humanity's challenges posed by the climate change. . KENTECH's five specialized research fields will also help the nation build the technology foundation for national competitiveness and sustainable growthin the global energy marketplace.

KENTECH Institutes
KENTECH’s Researchers and Five Specialized Energy InstitutesResearchers at KENTECH are committed to performing current challenging R&D thorugh global research collaboration. They work closely with energy industries to produce practical world-class deliverables to meet their needs. KENTECH will be at the forefront of developing future energy solutions to help achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
KENTECH has a goal to become the "global hub for energy research " through converged and integrated research efforts in the energy fields. KENTECH researchers adopt convergence research approaches to resolving the issues arising from the climate change challenge We have five major energy research institutes at KENTECH: Institute for Energy AI, Institute for Energy Materials and Devices, Institute for Grid Modernization, Institute for Hydrogen Energy, and Institute for Environmental and Climate Technology.

KENTECH Central Equipment Center
KENTECH Central Equipment Center performs research and analysis activities to tackle domestic and international challenges, such as zero carbon initiatives, create productive research results in strategic alliance with industry, academia, and research institutes, and train energy researchers and scholars..
To strengthen research capabilities at the five major energy research institutes, KENTECH starts to construct transmission electron microscope (TEM), followed by investing KRW 40 billion in a joint research equipment by 2025. We plan to provide training on high-level analysis methods and various know-how by establishing a support system for research facilities and equipment.
In 2025, when the KENTECH facilities are fully completed, we expect to possess the state of the art test and analysis capabilities specified by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS), with the management system to ensure the high reliability of the research facility equipment.
